If you are a true Manly Man who can just about grow a beard overnight.  You know, the 5 o’clock shadow by noon kind of man, who’s face hasn’t seen the sun in years because it’s so dense.   Well if that’s the case we salute you!  It is then your duty to have a beard…but not just any beard, a perfectly kept beard.

Beard grooming is an absolute must if you don’t want that brutal beard to become an unruly one.  Here are 3 golden…and very simple tips to keeping your beard looking godly.

Wash that Brutal Beard.

It’s not rocket science…we know…but just incase you didn’t know, washing your manly mane with a good quality beard wash is key.

Avoid using anything too harsh like bar soap or body wash which will leave your face, and beard extremely dry leading to dry and damaged hair follicles.

How often? It depends on how dirty you get…If you work indoors you may not need to scrub it clean every day. In fact, a couple times a week can be sufficient.  If you work outside and it’s keeping your face protected from the elements..you may need to consider more regularly washes. So use your judgment here.

Oil the Brutal Mane

Beard oil is the foundation of a healthy beard and you should be applying it every day!

As your beard grows longer, your body’s production of natural oil (sebum) is not enough to moisturize the longer hairs and skin. This leads to “beardruff”, itchy and irritated skin and split ends.  That’s why we highly recommend you oil your beard on a daily basis! It’s crucial to keep your skin and beard moisturized and healthy. Plus it prompts healthy growth.

Brush & Comb that Manly Mass

Once again…not rocket science but we highly recommend that once you have applied your oils that you style and tame your manly mane with a brush or comb.  A boars hair brush is also an option that works well for smoothing and styling.

First step…start by going under your beard and combing everything out, away from your face.  It’s the opposite of what you were probably imagining but this allows the hairs to really separate and it adds fullness to your beard.  Yes we know…you already have a full beard…stay with us here.

Once that manly mane is fully combed out and up…then comb it straight down into place and style it how you like.  This leads to less tangles, and help you style it just the way you like it!
